STEERING COMMITTEE

Sheldon has been a driving force behind the Speedway Signature Event since its founding in 2019, bringing both organizational vision and passionate sponsorship to every edition. A Indianapolis 500 enthusiast, Sheldon can name every Indianapolis 500 winner since he was born. He serves on the partnership team at Chrysalis Global and serves as the Chairperson of the Board of the Chrysalis Global Foundation. As a judge adivsor, his event credits include the VEX Robotics World Championships, multiple Signature Events, as well as the Indiana and Tennessee State Championships.

Lauded within the Signature Event community for her attention to detail and relentless focus on the student experience, Julie is the beating heart of the Speedway Signature Event. Julie joined the Speedway team in 2022. A former coach of Cornerstone Robotics, she brings a wealth of experience to the Speedway team. As Speedway's Event Partner, Julie leads all team communication, back-of-house operations, and staff management. Julie has twice served as a Division Manager at the VEX Robotics World Championships and consisently serves as a Head Referee or Division Manager at Signature Events and State Championships.

The Voice of the Speedway, David has served as the event's Tournament Director since the First Running in 2019. He oversees all competition operations, production, floor operations, and front-of-house vendor management. David's parents learned early in his life that David simply will never stop talking. This skill has never served him well except in the world of VEX Robotics, where he has been an announcer at Speedway since 2019. He has made three appearances at the VEX Robotics World Championships as a Dome Announcer and worked for the Worlds Production Staff in 2024.
